Equipment

  • 1 9" Pie Dish

Ingredients

  • 8 Medium-sized apples peeled, cored and sliced
  • 1 pie crust, fresh or frozen
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp apple pie seasoning
  • 3/4 cup walnuts chopped
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 4 tbsp salted butter cubed

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425℉.
  • Place pie crust onto a 9" oven proof pie dish. Set aside.
  • Peel, core, and thinly slice apples.
  • Place sliced apples in a large mixing bowl. Combine brown sugar, flour, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple pie seasoning, nuts, and raisins.
  • Toss all ingredients in bowl to mix well.
  • Pile apple mixture into pie dish, arranging them around pie crust and pressing down to fill pie dish evenly.
  • Place cubed butter onto assembled apple slices while filling your dish.
  • Bake 20 minutes at 425℉. Then reduce heat to 350℉ for an additional 45-50 minutes until golden brown and apples are tender (insert knife in center of pie until little to no resistence).
  • Remove from oven. Place on a cooling rack and let cool for 2 hours. Serve with vanilla ice cream if desired.
