Dear Friends,
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! The holiday of love, where we get to shower our loved ones with flowers, chocolates, mushy love notes and so much more. But let’s be honest, it’s not just about the gifts and grand gestures. It’s about having a little bit of fun, being silly, and making memories that will last a lifetime, and what better way to do that than with a sweet and delicious drink in hand?
If you’re looking for a quiet, intimate dinner, and a cozy night in, I’ve got just the thing for you and yours. A Strawberry Moscow Mule, perfect for sipping on with your sweetheart as you enjoy each other’s company.
For those of you who don’t know, a Moscow Mule is a classic cocktail made with ginger beer, vodka, and lime juice. But, I’m going to put a spin on it and add some fresh strawberries to give it a sweet and fruity twist. And let me tell you, this combination is a match made in heaven!
But, before we dive into the recipe, let me tell you a little story. My love for Moscow Mules started when my brother, Daniel, ordered a Moscow Mule at a Portuguese restaurant that we were having lunch at with my parents last year. I had always heard of this drink but was never daring enough to order one. Ginger and I sometimes have a love-hate relationship, but nevertheless, I took a sip and it was like love at first drink. The spicy ginger, tangy lime, and smooth vodka just hit all the right notes. And ever since then, I’ve been a Moscow Mule fanatic!
Last Thanksgiving, my brother spent the holiday with us, and knowing how much he liked Moscow Mules, I decided to put a little spin on it! Adding orange juice and cranberry juice made it a great holiday treat! He approved! I made it again for Christmas and it was a family favorite!
But, this Valentine’s Day, I wanted to do something special and add a touch of love to my favorite drink. And, what says love more than strawberries? So, without further ado, let’s get into the recipe for a Valentine’s Day Strawberry Moscow Mule.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. vodka
- 3-4 fresh strawberries
- 1/2 lime, squeezed
- 4 oz. ginger beer
- 2 oz. of ginger ale
- ice
- fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions:
- First, grab your shaker and muddle the strawberries and lime juice together. Yes, I know muddling sounds like something you do to your ex, but trust me, this is way more fun.
- Add the vodka and a handful of ice to the shaker.
- Shake it like a polaroid picture! (Or, you know, just until the shaker is cold).
- Pour the mixture into a copper mug or any glass over ice.
- Top with ginger beer and ginger ale and stir gently.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves and a slice of lime and/or strawberries, if desired.
- Savor each sip with your love.
This Valentine’s Day a Strawberry Moscow Mule is the perfect drink for a romantic evening. The strawberries add a sweet and fruity flavor that pairs perfectly with the spicy ginger and tangy lime. Plus, the beautiful red color is sure to set the mood for love. This Strawberry Moscow Mule is super refreshing and would be a great summer drink!
